Who's camping and who's hoteling?

We have mostly stayed in motels since the ill fated fiasco at Doomsburg. That year we camped with the Camp Gears youth and survived it, albeit even with the failure of the site to provide contracted for facilities. Now I use supplemental oxygen at night and periodically during the day, so tenting it is not particularly practical.

When solo or with my son we usually camp. With my pillion (who has logged 13k for 2 national rallies) we hotel it. A small price to pay for such lovely company (and she doesn't snore)

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of who camped, rv, motels.

That would be interesting to see. Not sure how they could get the information.
It could be on the registration form, but people who register ahead sometimes change their mind between camping and motel.

Found a reasonable rate 9 miles from the rally, so no camping this year. The cost and simplicity vs. hauling a tent air mattress, and sleeping bag won. I'll save camping for the Falling Leaf Rally.

My wife and I will be in Overland Camping with our Camper Van and Bikes... Our club has a tent in the Charter Club Camping area and most of our members will be camping there. Transit LCR Rally.jpg

It would be even more interesting to see a graph over time as I suspect the number of campers has gone down over the years.

I’ve always moteled it but I think the Sherpa thing would be best but I don’t camp in the heat when I do camp. Yeah I know I’m a weenie.
