To paint or not to paint, that is ......

Paint?

Ray, a bike can only be original once. If the body panels are still carrying original paint, then a segmented touch-up would be the best course of action. Otherwise, I'd vote for powder coat. If you choose powder coat, take care to make sure all bolt holes and attachment points are plugged or masked.

I have found a shop that does powder coating who uses a supplier that has a spray touch up product that can be purchased over the counter.

That said, I am leaning towards using paint. I'll probably ride the R90S several thousand miles per year so the toughness of powder coating is not important to me. Also, I really don't want to worry about threaded holes, bearing races, etc.

Woodnsteel, I appreciate the comments about segmented touch up. My R69S is original except for a little touch up here and there. The R90S was really rough so it needed a total repaint.
