flying a planked Boxer into the frame with one hand and both barrels blazing

I strapped the motor to a plank, and slide frame around same plank.
I hung the plank from ladders, ladders strapped to wheeled dollies for convenience,
basically threaded the motor in to the frame using plank as leader.
There's almost nothing here that cant be done one handed.

The pan & oil pickup must come off for clearance . .
I'd rather re- install those, than the jugs ....

I'd like to thank the usps for their genres "support' of this project.

well Orville , maybe this flight went better than expected. Im past my graceful engine slinging days .

Made a crane w/ a pair of folding ladders. Strapped the ladders (very well. They want to fall off and if they do, yo're f'd) to flat furniture dollies.
Thats just a decent wood bed rail plank that held up a frame and most of the motor without any cracking sounds.
sorely tested maybe, but I tried to keep things inches over a resting spot.
Maybe use both rails; that extra height does then require a little more jockeying when threading M otor & F rame together and I hate to scratch new paint.

and then the story gets really interesting-
so I strap the board to my M ,
thread one end of the plank into a ladder,
slip the F on the other end of plank
roll the 2nd ladder into position,
Take the M's bottom off
then slide the M into the F with a little twist & shout
It feeled so good, that I slid the F back off my M, and did it a few more times for pure pleasure
wait a minnit, sorry , was supposed to be TECH TIP not turn in to a SEXT TIP.

Still had to remove pan & pickup, but thats a small price compared to putting barrels on in-frame.
But seriously, assembling the lift by pieces and especially using that plank, makes MOST of installing this engine a
