Paul B.

If a man is measured by the outpouring

of love, friendship and admiration that he warrants after he is gone; then Paul certainly warrants being called one very special individual.

May he rest in peace; and his family be comforted by how much he touched all of us.

We heard this very sad news at the Finger Lakes rally Friday evening. A great friend to so many of us...can't find the words. God's speed Paul.

When I placed a note in the ongoing RA rally thread, that he did an amazing job of advertising, about my plan to attend he e-mailed me that he was glad, I would have a good time and he hoped to get a chance to say hello. I had never met him and now I feel bummed I didn't get a chance to. Life is always better when you get to meet a good person. I hope his family takes solace in what they brought to each others lives.

Perfectly expressed my thoughts about Paul B. and this thread.

Update on Memories

I have copied all the memories into a document for the Bachorz Family - now just have to make it look a little nicer. Good idea you all had!

Thanks Muriel,

Over the weekend I saw the Rally Volunteer 2009 towel Paul gave me in Gray, Tn and I cried. I know we all will miss him from near to far and wide.

Fair winds and following seas, shipmate, you will be missed.

My Condolances to his Family and Friends.

We never met!

I promised to make a point of meeting Paul at the RA rally this year but it did not happen.

I surely appreciated all the information about the RA rally as well as many others over the years which helped make the trips ever so much more interesting. It is with sad heart that I did not take the time or have the time to get to know him. However, that being said, my life is the richer for having a cyberspace connection with Paul Bachhorz!!

I just saw this thread and hoped it would have a happy ending. So sad. I met Paul at the Big Gigs and Aerodrome Rallies and he always greeted me by name and made me feel welcome. Such a good man. I will miss him. It won't be the same without him.

Paul and I co-planned the Salty Fog Riders Rally back in 2006. The following are a couple of pictures at the first rally in 2007. Paul preferred our Larry's River house with a bit more of the 'cabin' feel than it now has.

This rally will now have an ongoing recognition of Paul. Mary and I met up with Paul at the RA a few times. He seemed so tired..... how little we knew what was really happening. - Bob

This one must have been taken by Mary, earlier that day at breakfast. Paul, Bob, and me. I know I have another picture or two somewhere.

It seemed to me that for Paul so much revolved around Family, Friends and Food.... in that order. A couple of Friends pictures...

For Paul,
Requiescat in Pacem (Rest in Peace)

For those of you who don't know it, the following are the words to the Navy Hymn, appropriate to an old Sea Dog:

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm doth bind the restless wave,
Who bid'st the mighty ocean deep,
Its own appointed limits keep,
Oh hear us when we cry to thee,
For those in peril on the sea.
Amen

Reminder

a BUMP for Paul.

in case it slipped your mind, it is coming this weekend

I'm planning to attend. Spending Saturday night in Kingston, ON with my Mother, then heading down Sunday. I may stay over somewhere local Sunday night as it's about an 8 hour drive for me. Any suggestions on local motels etc?

Mary and I are very sad that we cannot make Paul's memorial. We have sent some pictures but it really does pale when compared to the great times, the wonderful discussions/planning and many activities that was Paul. He will be missed for a very long time. What would one of the things that Paul would say about the memorial?: First.... take and share lots of pictures; secondly... laugh, share stories, analyze a bit, .... but laugh and think of possibilities! and, celebrate life! oh ya.... get something good to eat! Gonna miss him. - Bob
