Opinions on Warm n Safe gloves

I have had an older original Gerbings liner, socks and gloves for at least the past 10 years that get regular use each year that served me well with zero issues other than the discomfort the socks caused due to the wires..to the point that I stopped using them.

Last year I got sick of the liner cold spots and feeling the old style wires and replaced my liner with a Warm n Safe liner and while I was at it, picked up pant liners and replaced the stupid uncomfortable old style heated socks for WnS microwore socks. Life is good.

I still have the Gerbing gloves they are the old bulky style gloves and while they work I hate and have always hated the bulk of them. In addition in temps below 30 on the highway they aren't as warm as I like after a few hours of riding.

So now that you've read my heated gear life story, I am considering swapping my gloves for some WnS touring gloves but am unsure if it is worthwhile. If there will be any real worlx improvements or not.

Anyone have any input?

I have been thinking about replacing my Gerbings gloves for a while. At the Billings rally, I visited the former Gerbings now I can't remember the name and purchased a set of deer skin heated gloves. Finally had the opportunity to use them a few weeks ago returning home from Steamboat Springs. Departed at 0630 with the temp at 30. Leaving town heading west it dropped to 28 and stayed there all the way to Craig. The gloves worked just fine.
while the old Gerbings gloves worked fine also, they are pretty bulky and find it difficult to push various controls on the bike. The new gloves solved all that and kept my hands nice and warm
I can't remember the name of the company, but it is run by the original with his son and daughter or daughter in law. Don't remember. New technology with heated gear is great and the heated gear manufactures are all on that bandwagon.

Great thanks for the info.

I used the warm & safe all year last year and I am a fan. Changed over to the glove inserts after being disappointed with the Gerbing heated gloves, in terms of quality and bulk. I didn't even ask Gerbing to return the one glove I sent in for repair after they failed to warrant the defect on a 1.5 year old glove. The inserts are way warmer, and much better from a price point perspective. And they are interchangeable with the Gerbing heat controller, so you don't have to upgrade that component, unless you want the wireless version controller....

I have the wireless controller and love it. Did you need larger gloves for the inserts? Doesn't it feel odd to have two pairs of gloves?

Thank you Lee. It is Gordon's. He was there sitting watching everything going on. I think he is in his 90's and remains active in the sport. I'm very happy with the gloves. They worked well and I was able to push buttons without any problem

I have a pair of waterproof gloves from Cabela's. My combination of insert and gloves is less than what the Gerbing glove comes to, and no, I don't feel any different with the inner gloves under the outer gloves. Very much like layering with shirts and pull-overs under my warm & safe heated jacket. And tested well down to 5 degrees on my many morning 10 mile rides to my Micky-Ds coffee klatch morning activity. I will admit though, if I park my 700 GS on the lot with a strong wind, it takes a lot to get her re-started again at that temperature...:-(
