Hotwired heated gear wiring connections

Simple question... I have searched everywhere to find wiring diagrams for my Hotwired Heated Jacket... not much out there except one article which mentioned how they were frustrated that there were no instructions!!
I have an older model that has different connectors from the current model.

I have a digital controller that i am connecting.
I found an old article that suggested that if you want the controller to regulate both the jacket and the gloves, connect the male to the female on the top part of the photo(jumper them) and connect the controller between the power and the wire coming out of the pocket on the bottom of the photo.
If you want the controller to control the jacket heat and the gloves to get full power, connect the controller between the male and female on the top part and wire the power directly into the pocket.

Does this sound correct?
Kind of confusing how they have this wiring setup..

Or, I did what I should have done and sat down with a battery and played with the connections.. Problem solved
