...and not to mention, your route is police escorted throughout the city...wanna know how it feels to be a VIP touring the city and waving at the masses?Same. You're riding along with a group of folks, probably on old or old looking motorcycles. The purpose is pretty different than my usual riding objectives. The DGR is totally about posing around town with your bike and some atypical riding gear. Instead of being an astronaut or pirate, you can be a nerd.
Sounds like BMW riders to me.![]()
We didn’t have a police escort in SF, but we had Marshals that were riding ahead and blocking intersections to let the column through. On some of the hills, you do not want 200 old bikes simultaneously trying a hill start on a super duper steep hill....and not to mention, your route is police escorted throughout the city...wanna know how it feels to be a VIP touring the city and waving at the masses?
Yeah, I think we had both, but both helped us not stop at most intersections, which was cool.We didn’t have a police escort in SF, but we had Marshals that were riding ahead and blocking intersections to let the column through. Great taste, I bought 2 of these this year as gifts to donors of $200+( which I personally deliver to their offices) . Started it last year as the helmets we used and now they expect it
Thanks for your support Stephen.Registered for the Los Angeles ride. Have a jacket and bow tie, thinking about a cheap DOT helmet that's less "serious touring" (full face carbon)...

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
On Sunday the 18th May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember.
