Distinguished Gentleman's for Ride 2025

...and not to mention, your route is police escorted throughout the city...wanna know how it feels to be a VIP touring the city and waving at the masses?Same. You're riding along with a group of folks, probably on old or old looking motorcycles. The purpose is pretty different than my usual riding objectives. The DGR is totally about posing around town with your bike and some atypical riding gear. Instead of being an astronaut or pirate, you can be a nerd.
Sounds like BMW riders to me.

We didn’t have a police escort in SF, but we had Marshals that were riding ahead and blocking intersections to let the column through. On some of the hills, you do not want 200 old bikes simultaneously trying a hill start on a super duper steep hill.
Getting the /2 underway while 2 up from a stop on Divisadero was…interesting.
The Healdsburg group should be a lot smaller. I think it starts at a winery. Soooo civilized, gentlefolk.

Registered for the Los Angeles ride. Have a jacket and bow tie, thinking about a cheap DOT helmet that's less "serious touring" (full face carbon)...

Great taste, I bought 2 of these this year as gifts to donors of $200+( which I personally deliver to their offices) . Started it last year as the helmets we used and now they expect it
Went with the black ones this year.
