RT Settings Need to be Reset Everyday ???

Hey Guys,

Before my latest trip, I took my bike in for service, and they also updated the software to 014-013-030. On my trip everyday, I would have to go into the settings, and turn on (Checking the box), for the "Comfort turn indicator", and also the radio (See photos). This was a PITA if I forgot to do it before heading out, as you would have to pull over to do it, as the bike can't be moving to adjust vehicle settings.

Has anyone else having this issue, or am I not doing something correctly, as I didn't have to mess around with this before???

Thanks for any help.

Steve

I wrote down all of my settings, and then did a factory reset. I then reprogrammed my settings, and will check them all in the morning, fingers crossed.

I used my #1 programmable button to control the radio, turns it on and off and with a quick touch mutes and unmutes. I did this because like you my radio is always off when I start the bike. I am not familiar with the comfort turn indicator function.

The "Comfort turn indicator" is in the vehicle settings, under "Lights", and has a check box for "On".

Steve, it must be a software version. I haven't upgraded for about 2 years I don't have this option (under settings lights don't display). What changes happen when on vs. off? My bike is a 22R1250RT

I think On was the default setting on our 2022 RSs. I've never had to reset it.
In my manual after you select On it does not mention another step to save the option.
Our bikes have not had a update since new.

That's what I think, it was working great before I took it in for service. BMW customer service is useless too.

Since the update it's become an issue, was working fine before, BMW technology.

I checked the settings today after the bike was sitting overnight, and once again my setting was deleted. Called the dealer who worked on my bike, and they submitted a complaint to BMW (I'm not holding my breath). He also said they only update the software once a year, I'm not sure about that either.

Steve

Just wondering, is it okay first thing with just the key on? Does it then change with/after the start cycle?
OM

BMW provides updates as they discover problems and have a fix.

That's what I thought, I don't really trust the dealer to do anything either. After I called BMW USA yesterday, their customer service was even less helpful when she told me this, "We deal mostly with cars, and SUV's here, and have very limited help for the motorcycles", oh boy.

I didn't start the bike today, just powered it on, and checked it, and it was off again.

Could it be a battery issue? An easy test would be to have it reading as it should- after use…. Hook up the bike to your Battery Tender….. Watch the next morning and see if your settings held with a little help from your Battery Tender.

Comfort turn indicator = self-cancelling turn signals.

I turn mine off because it often shuts off a turn signal before I want it to. I don't want to not notice it being off and then get hit by someone that didn't know I was turning.

I keep it on a battery tender all the time, I'll check the ground wire a make sure it's tight.

This is what the manual states about the turn indicators.

I like them.
It's nice in town when turning at a intersection, the signal turns off when the bike is upright after the turn.
On the highway the long press or short press feature is handy.

I'm also a fan. but now I have to remember to turn them on each ride before I take off, stupid software update, lol.
