RT Settings Need to be Reset Everyday ???

This is the reply I received from BMW USA, a joke:

Hi Steven,

Thanks for writing to BMW of North America, LLC regarding your 2023 BMW Motorrad R 1250 RT. I'm very sorry to read of your concerns and the issues you've been experiencing with your bike.

Please know that while we do understand the importance of your concerns, we’re unable to offer technical assistance for your bike, as we rely solely on the service teams at our authorized BMW Motorrad centers to assist our owners with maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our products.

Our service teams go through extensive product training and courses to be able to provide our valued customers with the technical assistance that BMW Motorrad Customer Relations cannot. As a result, we recommend contacting your local authorized center for further assistance.

If you do not have a preferred BMW Motorrad Center, please visit www.bmwmotorcycles.com.

I sincerely apologize that we're unable to provide any additional information or assistance in this case, but I hope this matter is resolved for you very soon, Steven.

Should you need to contact Customer Relations and Services again, you can reach us at 1-800-831-1117 Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.

I just received this email from BMW USA.

Hi Steve,

The Motorrad technical team sent an update regarding your software update concern.

They confirmed that this is a software issue that will be resolved with I-level 25-03-500. Unfortunately, this software update is not expected to be available until March 2025.

Your patience and understanding in the meantime are appreciated. Thank you again for bringing this concern to our attention.

Kind regards,

It looks like we'll have to wait for the fix, but I guess the first step is acknowledging, you have a problem, lol.

Nice to have a follow-up on this. :thumb

While I feel your pain and I am very sorry that other than the advice all ready given would be my thoughts. I must thank you for bringing to my attention the difference between a long and short press of the turn indicator switch. I am new to the old turn indicator switching. I really miss the right left thumb switching. I am now on my second read of the manual.

I have the exact year model 2023 as you. After a service which included a valve check , tire and hooking up to their computer, the comfort turn indicator will not stay checked. It appears to change after sitting overnight. I’ve gotten used to checking for this when I reset the trip meters when starting out. Also after the service, all presets in the four memory buttons were erased. Please let us know on the forum if BMW has a fix.

Yes, will do, but according to BMW, we'll have to wait until the Spring.

My boxes are "checked" when they are on! Quite different looking than post #1. I don't think you have it turned ON. Mine is checked and OFF next to the right arrow. Long press of turn signal puts them in "timed/distance off mode", short press turns off after bike leans back up after turn.

Yes, after I turn them on (Checked box), they reset overnight to Off (Unchecked box), and I have to reset them before riding.

Out of curiosity, are setting still good in the next morning- key on, and then change after the start cycle?

No, they reset with the bikes computer after sitting for six hours. When you power up the bike everything is reset, before starting the bike.

I just bought a new 2024RT a week ago. I am having the same issue and have the same software version 014-013-030. I am used to have the self-cancelling turn signals, so this is a bit aggravating. I hope this gets resolved in the next update. I hope they don't create more bugs with the next update.

Unfortunately, BMW has a bad tendency of shooting themselves in the foot, thinking they're the smartest guys in the room. It's been six months now, and no fix yet, incredible.

I'm not looking for a new bike, but if I were, this BS would be enough to discount another BMW. "The smartest guys in the room" are killing what - IMO - has been a superior bike manufacturer for a lot of years.

How in the world can it be impossible to clear the software and reinstall the original version that worked.??.
