Throttle Lock for 1998 K1200RS

Hello all. I'd like to have some kind of cruise control on my 1998 K1200RS. I see there are lots of aftermarket options. Can anyone recommend one that works well on my bike? I'd rather not spend a fortune on this. Thanks for the help!

1998 K1200RS cruise options

I've used friction throttle locks on my non-cc bikes. I now have a 98 K1200RS taxi, but it came without the handlebar extensions. I did find a pair of bars with the extensions on ebay for less than half the cost of a Throttlemeister control.
I like Throttlemeisters, as my '86, '96 (current), '04 x 2 RT's had one, but the ebay deal included a bar end and a knurled OEM ? friction lock.
Some people would rather not have one at all for safety but I adjust mine to just reduce some of the strain of maintaining a throttle position. Crampbuster is another type and even cheaper but not my favorite.
At the other end of the spectrum retrofitting a BMW OEM unit might work for mucho dinero.

K1200RS cruise option

Paul,

Thanks for clearing the mystery of my knurled cruise control. It's Bob's and looks great on the K.

Thanks for the ideas. I now see there are many options. I found a video on line of a guy (a Kiwi) using a cheap plastic clamp (got one from harbor freight for $1) to make a throttle lock. I'm going to experiment with that $1 option for now.

I have a crampbuster and use it on long trips but last ride was 9 hours straight (only stopping for gas) and keeping my hand on the throttle in that same position wrecked my shoulder for three months. I want to be able to rest my right arm at my side from time to time. I'm doing that same 9 hour ride at the end of next month.
