The G650gs lives on!

Hanging in there
BMW’s single cylinder 650 Funduro was originally derived from the Aprilia Pegaso in the mid-late 1990’s. The engine was made by Austrian Rotax initially but production was transferred to Chinese Loncin after several years for cost reasons.

Although BMW stopped marketing their single cylinder G650 several years ago, Loncin continued to build the engines and built their own bike around it for sale in China only, probably due to marketing restrictions with BMW. Those restrictions may have expired as Loncin is selling their motorcycles in Europe now under their Voge brand. The 650 single looks interesting and has a five year warranty!

I hope they get a US distributor. That 650DSX LX is the bike BMW should still be selling, instead of the G650 Twin.

Best,
DeVern

EDIT: Two points of interest not mentioned on their website: Does the engine have the same counterbalancer setup as the BMW G650 singles had, and are the spoked wheels tubeless? More research needed…
