R1250RT 2019 headlight problem: both low beams out at startup

And you may even learn to schedule it proactively for the most convenient time.

Why change a good bulb? If you could predict how long a bulb will last, then yes, change it on a schedule. I've had bulbs go at 10,000 miles, 5,000 miles (twice), and the current bulb is still going after 15,000 miles. (I've probably jinxed myself with that last statement. I just carry a bulb with me when traveling, and change it when needed (usually in a hotel parking lot, sweating like a pig!)

I have had it happen so many times, unpredictable as to the occurrence time span. I just throw on the brights on the rest of the daylight trip and do the new bulb having the comforts of home.

When the low beam goes out one high beam lights up so the bike does have a front headlight. Once the low has been changed out all goes back to normal.

My 15 is on its third bulb in 24,000 miles, the last one replaced while sitting in the dirt in Doswell, Virginia at the National Rally. Note to self, always carry a spare H7 when on a trip. Otherwise you’ll be looking for an open Autozone on a Sunday morning, lol.
The funniest part about changing it there was the look on fellow BMW riders faces (from past experience) when they realized I had to try to get my hand in there and change it. :laugh:laugh
