more on boots!

Do you mean Daytona from Helimot? That'd surprise me, as I've never heard of somebody being disappointed with their boots, or Helimots online customer service.

nope...these were Vendramini Daytonas....had a cheap look....felt very comfortable...like sneakers and felt that they had about the same amount of protection...not much support.

I like Sidi I think they are the best available.

For my touring boots (GS touring) I use their Typhoons, tall, Gore-tex, all leather. I think they are one or two steps toward the touring side of things compared to the Combat Lites.

For full off-road rides I wear their Crossfires, these are simply the best off-road boot you can get.

I have a pair of their Vetabras for the Boxercup.

I also wear their moutain and road bike shoes when I have time for the slow two wheel habit.

I like my Sidi Canyon Gortex. Water proof. Very comfortable, work well on the bike (not too clunky, good "feel"), but seem like they would protect well (but not like a full mx boot of course). They fit under jeans and are comfortable enough to walk around in. I've never read a bad review on them and there are a LOT of reviews. Hard to go wrong.

Wide Feet

Anyone have experince with the Tour Master Solution boots that have wide feet? I normally wear a 13 wide shoe.

These will prolly work for you. I wear 13-5E and have been through two pairs of them in the last few years. They're TIGHT on me for a couple of months when new, but "merely wide" feet should be a close match for you.

Thanks for the information.

Vendramini Marathon is the one I like. Better support than most boots I've looked at, very comfortable, waterproof. The only drawback is the sole is very soft, and wears out relatively quickly, but I found a solution to that, WHICH WILL WORK ON ANY BOOT the company which resoles the Aero boots can and will resole any motorcycle boot. ANY motorcycle boot. They put Sidi soles on them, either MX or Trials. My Vendraminis with Trials soles have served well for about 12,000 miles with no particular sign of wear. Comfortable to walk around in. Sole Performance is the company you want to search for. I crashed once in the boots several years ago, no damage to me or the boots.

Can you provide the contact info for this service? I have a couple pairs of riding boots in desparate need of new soles. A shame to throw them away as they are still in good condition otherwise.

Tourmaster Solutions

I have size 12 wide and the Tour Masters work fine for me. They soften up after a while and get real comfortable.

They resoled my Marathon Steels and did a great job. The Sidi soles aren't as comfortable if you spend alot of time walking/standing (hours), but they are made out of what seems to be a more durable material. In the saddle I haven't really noticed a difference in comfort with the Sidis, but the original soles were softer/stickier.

i personally have been disappointed in the tourmaster solution boots - way too hot and if they actually "breath" its not noticeable. i also have a hard time getting my toe under the shifter with these particular boots.
