What is your preferred riding glove/s

I’ve worn out many pairs of motorcycling specific gloves (Olympia, Gerbing, BMW, etc) but the gloves I have settled on for most riding the past few years are Fleet Farm Field and Forest Winnebago lined deerskin gloves. They fit snug but are so comfortable I can and do wear them all day in any weather. Being deerskin they can get torn up in a crash but the lining helps in that regard. Don’t ask how I know that …

+1 on the BMW boots but I prefer the older style with the zipper all the way to the top of the boot. The newer style with heavy Velcro’d flap do not seem as comfortable or as well made as the originals with the soft Velcro flap covering the entire zipper.

IMHO there is no way someone riding a step through scooter doesn't really need a full face helmet and armored riding gear, and many believe because they are not racers they don't need all the protection racers use. There is zero logic to those beliefs. People are funny.

For gloves, at all times you need knuckle protection, tied together 4 and 5 fingers, gauntlets with tie straps, a flap to protect the tie strap, sliders on palms, etc.

Basically this means if your gloves cost less than $200 they are inadequate. Your hands are pretty important.

PS I can still visualize an incident from the Qatar MotoGP night race a few years ago ... Bradl crashed and as he rolled though the gravel trap, sparks were coming from his hands (gloves).

I’m not convinced someone riding a 50cc scooter that tops out at 28mph needs to wear armored gear suitable for a racetrack, but I suppose it all depends on one’s tolerance to risk. The safest option would probably be to never get on a motorcycle at all.
I’m also not convinced one can equate functional utility with item cost. A $100k 911 is certainly fast, flashy, and desirable, but a $30k Prius is probably a better car choice for most of us. Decisions, decisions …

I like to wear gauntlet style racing gloves, they offer the protection I want and the tactile connection I need at the controls. I figure if I'm ever in a slide at speed on the pavement it will be worth the extra bucks I laid out to save my palms, wrists and fingers. I ride with a pair of Hi-Per gloves from RacerGloves USA, the price was reasonable and they fit perfectly right out of the bag.

I really like Racer gloves - they are the best fitting gloves I have ever owned. Unfortunately they no longer have a dealer in Canada..

I think we have just one US dealer, located in Michigan. Will they ship international or are their export regulations that prohibit that?

They will ship to Canada. The current political situation precludes dealing with any company from america.

I found this comparison site reviewing a bunch of CE KP2 gloves an interesting read.

MC Gear Hub reviews.

I picked up a set of LS2 Swifts ($99) over the winter. They look & feel solid, and increased protection at a budget price interests me. After a few hundred miles I’ll post a review.
