MOAL Ride-2-Eat, 14Oct23!

We tested a route south from HSV to Leo & Suzie’s Famous Green Top BBQ in Dora, and we did encounter some navigation issues. After finding the relocated storefront restaurant (due to a kitchen fire), we enjoyed a respectable lunch. Due to the rather ordinary atmosphere, I’ve decided to shorten my proposed route and stop for lunch where we had very good BBQ 18 months ago for this October’s 2nd Saturday Ride-2-Eat. I think the group was impressed with the Bar-b-que at Porky’s Pride in Hayden, AL [ 1128 AL-160, Suite B; N33° 51.378' W86° 48.407' ].

We’ll depart the Blue Plate Cafe in HSV after the Vintage M/C Breakfast on Oct 14 ~0830. We’ll check for add-ons at the Murphy Gas outlet on the South Parkway. Hope to depart there NLT 0850 for a rendezvous at Porky’s Pride at/before 1100 (when they open). If we’re lucky, Jack will be there before 1100 from BHM and he’ll reserve that large group picnic table for the MOAL! We just had a splendid jaunt on 23Sep at the MOAL quarterly rendezvous. Here’s hoping the weather will be as fine on 14 Oct. Hope to connect with some familiar faces as well as any new acquaintances next month. Attached is my waypoint collection & route for October. Meet up there at Porky’s Pride @ 1100; to leave Rocket City ~0850 from Murphy’s Gas on south Parkway.

Supposed to be a splendid autumn day to go get some good BBQ.
