Interesting VWxBMW marriage

This was not a unique bike. There were many others including a "kit bike" I think was called a Willis conversion running around in the 60s. IIRC a common problem was dealing with carb icing complications.

It was an answer to a question I never asked.

I knew a guy in Anchorage that had two VW/BMW conversations. He rode one once a year to Fairbanks. He said it was a bunch of work to end up with a difficult bike to maintain and with not much power.
