GS Riding Gear

...The(n) I told him that the Black HD leathers and beanie helmets that he and his wife wore were probably not optimal for riding a BMW. ...

I don't know why not. I frequently wear a favorite H-D jacket while astride my 1200GS and staying on pavement. Due to the bike your friend was test riding I assume he was planning to stay on pavement as well.. Is one supposed to be clad in textiles when riding a BMW? Would non-black leather jackets be okay? Are black leather engineer boots also verboten?

I wonder what would be the appropriate jacket to acquire for when I purchase a Yamaha FZ-09? Oh, I completely forgot: I own an Italian scooter and have absolutely no idea what is proper attire to wear with Italian-four-stroke, pre Labor Day......

In the interest of full disclosure, I must point out that some Harley riders have questioned my wearing an Arai Signet-Q helmet while I'm on my Road King Classic.

It's too bad about the friend; he missed out on having a great motorcycle. :)

I personally really notice when I see a cruiser rider wearing a nice full face helmet. I see that Arai or Shoei decal a mile away and smile at someone not caring about the typical "look" needed for that type of riding.

Keep on doing what you do:whistle
