Been riding motorcycles for over 50 years all across the US, Canada, Europe and New Zealand. My first experience with riding BMW's was in the mid 70's when I had the opportunity to ride a buddies R/75. Fast forward to 2017, I rented a GS1200 to ride around New Zealand for three weeks and got hooked on how well that bike handled. I kept thinking to myself this bike corners like its on rails. Something I hadn't forgotten. My current bikes include a 2010 Honda Goldwing and a 2022 Yamaha FJR1300ES. Finally pulled the trigger last year and purchased a 2023 R1250GSA. I love this bike. Already put 5K miles on it this year so far riding around the PNW. Anyway, looking forward to reading all the informative and interesting posts on this forum. Safe travels everyoneIMG_3323.JPG

Thank you everyone for the welcome.
HSV Phil- I did make it to the national rally this year. Had a great time and enjoyed talking with vendors and fellow motorcyclists about their bikes especially about the tweaks and additions they have made to their bikes. Gave me some good ideas for the things I'd like to add as well. Loved the venue, and seminars. Everyone was so friendly. Great people and great organization!

Welcome Gene! Nice trio of bikes you have. Are they like children where you love them all equally or do you have a favorite? Thanks for posting the picture.

Good question langoptc! I do love them all equally at the moment. We use the Goldwing for two up riding on long trips where weather and cold temp's could be a factor. Needless to say, the wife prefers this one the best. I've been riding FJR's for a number of years and it does very well to satisfy that itch in me to do some "canyon carving" and offers good ventilation and heat relief while riding on those "hot" summer days. This one is turning into something I ride when I'm by myself. I got the BMW for riding in more remote areas where there isn't always asphalt on the roads. Case in point, we rode the Dalton Highway up to Deadhorse, Alaska a couple years ago on the Goldwing where I got a taste what its like on that road when it rains. Managed to make the trip up and back OK but it was then I decided I needed to get something more suited for this type of riding. I'm finding though the more I ride the BMW, the more I think this could turn into my favorite all around bike. It checks all the boxes for us.

Welcome aboard. If you're looking for NorCal road ideas, hit me up. I'm happy to share what I've learned.

Pretty country up there in OR and I laughed at your phonetic spelling of how people actually pronounce "Oregon". :ha

Great to e-meet you!
