Well Hello There

Hello everyone, I'm new here but not new to BMW or motorcycles. I've been riding for around 21 years and this is my third BMW. I've had a 1997 1100RT, a 1250GS ADV, and currently own a 2022 1250GS. While I had my previous r1250gsa I also owned a 790 adventure and felt they were to similar, plus I never really wanted to offroad the adventure. About 1.5 years after selling the GSA my 790 decided to eat its own cams I decided to get rid of the KTM and purchase the right BMW for me and that was the 2022 gs with sport suspension. I also picked up a kove 450 rally to use as my bdr bike. I am hoping to get out to some of the BMW rallies. Thank you for the welcome everyone.

Welcome from Newfoundland. How do you like the Kove? Lots of speculation about them from the Dakar.

It has been a pretty good bike so far, I've only put 1500 miles on it this season but will be putting almost 2k on it on the next trip. One of the most annoying things is the fueling and exhaust noise/volume. The factory fueling below 4k was absolute terrible and very snatchy. My bike came with the titanium race exhaust and for dual sporting is to loud. Cobber made an ecu that really helped and I was able to put a spark arrestor in the mid pipe that has helped a lot for the exhaust volume but realistically I'll probably buy a different exhaust.

From a reliability stand point there have been no issue, and I would say the fit and finish is very good. Suspension is stiff unless you are at speed and then you don't feel anything. Engine is extremely smooth even spinning 7K at 75 MPH, weight is nice and low. I would say those are the big things that stick out on this bike low CG, low vibration at speed and a pretty decent suspension from the factory.

Thank you everyone for the welcome!

Welcome Steve! Hope you are loving the GS. A picture or two is always appreciated.
I haven't taken many pictures but the first 2 are the weekend I bought it I rode it up to road america. Next was installing the outback lower cage, and the last is 3d prints of oil fill plug tools. I seem to misplace them all the time somehow. Been a great bike so far just lots of things going on around the homestead so I've probably only put 1800 miles on it since May.
