First Ride report - Arkansas, Dragon, Key West

This is my first attempt at a ride report so bare with me on this! I left my house in Arkansas, went into Mississippi and took the Natchez trace to Nashville. I met up with some friends from Indiana (one on a Yahmaha and the other on a Harley) and we went over to Deal's Gap. We rode around there for a couple of days and then we parted ways. My friends headed home, I went to visit some friends in Orlando. After a day of rest I headed to Key West for lunch and then back up to Miami for another visit with friends. After one last day of rest I did my first Iron Butt run home to Crossett Arkansas via Naples and Mobile. 3600 miles total. Bike was great! Although I will be getting a new seat! Trip was great. Here are some pics.

The beamer all loaded up and ready to start

to post multiple pics in a single post they need to be hosted somewhere on the web. a popular place with riders is smugmug .

i host my pics on my own website, and link to them via that.

you can tell the difference between uploaded and linked pictures by whether or not they have a border line drawn around them. uploaded pictures have the border, linked ones do not.

btw, where in AR? i lived in arkadelphia for a spell.

I am struggling here, trying to use my yahoo photo but it doesn't look like you can do that.

Live in Crossett, but will be moving to San Francisco next month.

hmmm, i didnt know there was a san francisco in arkansas. ;)

yahoo photo causes some folks some problems. i don't know the reason. let me futz with it a bit over in "how do i..."

edit: i tried to embed this one: http://us.a2.yahoofs.com/users/8hO3A6.6TCcN/__sr_/f21a.jpg?tkn=ph8rzCFBUAKWqSFs&saveas=Natchez+Trace.JPG

looking at that link it looks like a bunch of mumbo. i got that by right-clicking on the picture (on a PC) and selecting "copy image location."

then i went and read 6 pages of yahoo photo questions/answers on sharing photos, and that had several cases of people with the same issue and no resolution posted. your account is public, and i don't think the images are too big. i right clicked and saved the image in the photo album, and it was only 47kb. i think they have a bunch of code running to make the albums work, and it isnt a simple html thing to link to them.

sorry i couldnt figure it out.

User, I went to college there (Arkadoo) way back when...... I remember my first visit to Crossett, the wafting aroma of paper mills... :)

You're moving out here?

It's starting to be time for a Bay Area ride of some kind, I think.

OBU. Yea, I spent a lot of time on 7 to and from Hot Springs. The only place to go for (Ahem) "adult beverages." Those were great times.

I will try and add more pictures (probably one pic/post!) later.

I should be in San Fran by the end of October. If you guys are doing a ride around then I would love to join you.

As for riding in Arkansas, I was suppose to be riding up Rt 7 today but had to work this morning. :bluduh

Getting on the trace, beutiful ride, I highly recomend it.
