2024 Coddiwomple Registration is open!

It was, yes was, a successful Coddiwomple for me. I finished up and submitted the last two pics yesterday, Apr. 30, to hit my 1250 point target (the number matching my bike's displacement). I also managed to keep my points all in the southern most counties of California, Imperial and San Diego.

I tend to think the setting of personal goals is important, especially if you know you do not have a chance of winning. If I thought I had any chance of that, I'd be all in. But for me there is no point in going all out to just end in the lower middle of the pack. I crossed the line on day one of the Coddiwomple, and finished my goals before the first month had expired. This made it success for me.

Yeah, that is really the only one of the challenges that is going to be useful for me in generating points. And I don't drink, so no interest in visiting breweries whether I'm on my bike or otherwise. They are really nothing more than photo ops for me.

I suppose there is an off-hand chance I might spot a bell, a cougar or one of the mountain men names. Unlikely though.
I am searching within five hours of my home and you are three hours and twenty mins from me. Within and hour to an hour and twenty minutes from Graham, I have found 16 cats, 3 bells, 2 mountain men, and 1 schooner.

I'm up to 350 points but I have quite a few bells to look for. Sadly the only other 2 MOA members in my province are not doing the Coddiwomple. When I do my fly and ride I will be looking for members to meet along the way to get 2 Faces 2 Flags points.

Cool story. I haven't found any of them.

Never received my flag anyway, so just not participating.

Now I'm in Nashville working for Cirque du Soleil so not on my bike. I'm looking to rent one on a day off so now looking for any members in the area to meet up for a 2 flags hit. Anyone?

Still waiting for my flag (late entry), but I have a good list of wagons, Oregon Trail, bells, and beavers to go find, so looking forward to starting this. Don't drink so the breweries have no draw for me. Mountain Men is still a question mark...

I keep bumping into wagons without covers. You'd think the Flagstaff Hill Interpretive Center would have covers on the wagons in their display ring, but no joy. Same for Farewell Bend, no covers. Huntington, no covers. Ontario Visitor Center, no cover. So with that, my own personal warning... don't rely on Goog Street View pics of wagons that might be covered... those pics might be older, "happier times" ;-)

And anyone in the Boise area who wants to meet up for a 2 Faces 2 Flags opportunity, drop me a note.

I'll be trying to meet up with some people on the eastern seaboard on my ride from Maryland to Newfoundland.

are you still in Nashville? I'm in Asheville and can get to you in about 4hrs or meet in Knoxville or other place

Sorry, long gone now. Actually back home for a little bit.

Question for you all out there. I have to do a fly and ride from Maryland to Newfoundland and I want to meet up with some folks on the road to get a few of those meetup challenges for my Coddiwomple. My plan is to head to Brattlebororo VT first the Better VT for CroMag so kind of looking that way for route.

I did not entry the 1st Coddiwomple.
Had fun in the 2nd and 3rd ones.
This year my wife also entered, I saw the challenges and didn't think we would do so good.
I was wrong we have been having a blast, it will be my best year by far !
Thank you to the organizers and the judges who sometimes make fun comments that make us laugh !
We appreciate you..

I've recently seen a bunch of bells. The place I thought was a new brewery wasn't. I leave for my fly and ride on Sunday. I'll be looking for a few folks on the north east to meet up for points.

Got out for a short morning ride this morning and added a few more pics. 3500 seems a worthy first time, but if the weather holds (and my ankle continues to heal) I may try a longer ride and catch a few more. Next year the strategy will be to sign up on time, and then plan to get as many points as possible before it gets to be 100+ every day during the summer. The big rally is probably not on the agenda though...
