2004 R1150RS 47k looking for a timing light

What do you all use for a timing light on a R1150RS 2004? Just changed the HES and its running like poop💩. Idles only after a few starts. It pops and farts and won't take any throttle input unless blip it up. New HES was put on the same mark. Got it to idle a bit and cylinder head temps were even +-. This was a die going to breakfast. Changed fuel filter, one quick disconnect. Plugs were changed last year.

You want an inductive timing light that has the clamp that just clips over the plug wire. eBay has sever Craftsman brand shown, and Amazon has a few listed too.

No timing light needed.

On the 1150: Rotate the crank by hand to a little before the 'S' mark (5° BTDC) on the flywheel
Turn the ignition key on - the fuel pump will cycle normally for 1 sec
Rotate the crank very s-l-o-w-l-y CW by hand until the fuel pump cycles again
The crank is now at the hall sensor trip point - in this case that is also the static timing point
Look at the flywheel marking to see where the static timing is set
Adjust if necessary

Also check for this on the right throttle body

And this is discussed in the Adventure Rider Hall of Wisdom document, Oilhead Timing the Easy Way.
