Lag in outside temp reading

I rode my RT to work this morning, temperature was 21C. Left the bike in the parking lot, and when I came out the temperature was around 31C. When I fired it up, the temp on the instrument panel was still reading 21. The reading did go up eventually, so was wondering if anyone else here has experienced this issue on their bikes.

This happens on my K13GT sometimes. Check the connector to the temp probe and make sure it is tight.

This is the normal behavior of my '10 K1300S, too. Takes a mile or so for the display to replace the last temp at shutdown with the current sensor input.
