prescription lenses-wrap arounds

I love my Maui Jims. Keeps the wind out of my eyes when I have the visor up and accomodates my bifocals just fine.

I forget what model.

No bifocals as yet (that may change next 'script) but I agree with Dave. A little pricey but worth it. They (Maui Jim) stand behind their products, too. I've already had one lens replaced (free) and I will need to replace another after the riding season (ok so I rode over them with my F800). :doh The lens did not break!

I have a pair of perscription glasses suitable for racketball that wrap around and provide excellant eye protection while riding. For use in bright sunlight just get them with transition lens. Ride Safe :usa

perscription

I had a pair of rec specs. and did not care for them. Take in to consideration the strength of the lenses you will need. If you have really bad eyes as I do, keep in mind that the larger the lense the thicker the lense will be at the end near the hinge. (do to the wrap around lense) What I found was when you look through the lense other than straight foward your perception is off a little.(not clear as you are used to with your regular glasses) This used to annoy me especially when you are spending 300-400 for a pair of glasses. If your perscription is not that strong I dont think it will be that much of a issue.

good ideas

I also have a slab-off on the right side, and that means that wrap-arounds are out so far. I will look into the rudy project.

But there are glass frames that mimic a wrap without obstructing vision.

Fwiw, the Zeiss company made wrap around lenses about 7 years ago with no distortion. But 7 years ago the price for lenses was about $2,600 USD. Probably close to $5K now.

I got mine at Lenscrafters. I think wrap arounds are in style now, so you can probably find them in eyeglasses stores. I love riding with mine--they keep the wind out of my eyes.

My distance vision is OK, so I get by with a pair of Wiley X PT-1 with some optx2020 stick-on lenses in a strength that makes it easy for me to read instruments, gps, map, etc.

I have the JP2. Works well close or far for me. I like the foam around the glass, keeps the eyes from drying out too badly.
