Fob- Where to store the fob when not in use?

Pretty sure that there are different systems in different vehicles.
You could probably run your own test on fob communications by trying to start the bike from where you would normally keep the fob…..and see what happens.

I store my fob on the clip in the left chest pocket of my Aerostich jacket. Not because of the potential electromagnetic shenanigans, but because this is the first new vehicle I've ever bought that only comes with one key and I'm paranoid I'll lose it. I had another non-chipped, non-fob key cut to use with my side cases, so the fob never has to come out of my pocket unless I change riding gear.

From Consumer Affairs

Leaving your key fob in the car overnight, or even on a hook near the car is not a smart idea.

"If the fob is too close to your car, it can continue to communicate with your car which could drain the battery," said Mike.
I know a guy who owns a Ford truck with a keypad on the door and he leaves his fob in the console 24-7.
