I gotta get to work, but couldn't resist replying to this. Just a list of models at this point, in order of purchase. Hopefully I'll get back later and fill in some details.

Honda Cub 50
Honda CL100
Honda SL100. . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
BMW K1200RS

I'd sorta like to hear some of the details from that long list, there has got to be a good story or two in there somewhere.

MOTORCYCLE HISTORY

I'll try to list em all! Some of these go back a while.

196x Honda cub 90 (1st bike with step thru and banana seat- rode a 100 foot circle in our yard -- 11 years old

197x Triumph Trophy 250 (13 yrs old-- paid $350 fixed a lot of mechanical things with help of Dad--Painted it myself- PURPLE METALFLAKE it was cool!

197x PUCH 175 dirt bike (very fast 2 stroke) 14-15 years old

1971 HD Sportster XLCH ( chopper with 6" extended front end a real custom bike for a 16 year old. Sold the Triumph and PUCH for the money) Had a lot of fun on this one.

1974 HD Shovelhead FLH (rode it 8 years) worked on it 8 years

1988 HD Lowrider FXRC ( built this bike to 96cubic inch-very fast V-TWIN) don't twist it unless you are ready

1994 SUZUKI KATANA (now fast was getting faster) still had the hog but what a different kind of ride!

2000 HD Electraglide FLHTCI ( two tone blk/red ) I broke my back 2 weeks after I got this bike in a work accident and didn't get to ride for 8 long months. Sold it in 2002

2003 K1200 LTC (1st beamer-titan silver) What can I say! I love all the features and with my bad back I needed an upright riding position with smoothness to keep riding as a lifestyle choice.

I could name 8-10 more cycles my son and I have had for dirt riding 4 wheelers and trail bikes.

I've got to add his 2002 SUZUKI GSXR1000 to this list.
This bike has been race modified and is by far the fastest freakin thing I have ever straddled. Dyno at 186 HP--wheelies are just a twist of the grip even in 4th gear. This is a 200 mph bike. Totally bad!!

I bet I can't do this!

1. 1972 100cc Yamaha
2. 1974 350cc Yamaha (Sporster eater):)
3. 1974 650cc Yamaha
4. 1974 XLCH Sporster
5. 1968 500 BSA
6. 1972 650 Triumph
7. 1977 Superglide (new!) $3640.00
8. 1971 XLH 900cc Sporster
9. 1973 XLCH Sporster
10. 1965 Panhead (semi-rat) Yes, I miss this one
11. 1977 XLCR #427 Harley Cafe Racer (only made 2 years)
12. 1985 K100
13. 19?? R60/5
14. 1974 R75/6 (still own)
15. 1976 R100s
16. 1981 R100RS
17. 1985 K100RT (still own)

Meee that's all I can think of. Naturally I owned several at any one time and I know I've owned almost a dozen Harleys. Some of the Japanese bikes I don't remember. Total miles... I'd say between 175,000 and 200k total. The '65 Panhead was sweet.

Those XLCRs are cool. I liked them when they were new and still think they're pretty cool.

If I could find an XR750.......

AWESOME!!

Eric, those pics took forever to download on my old slow dial-up system, (it's all that is available out in the boonies where i live), BUT well worth the wait. I especially love the shot of the K100. Really cool history, I would bet there are some good memories and stories that go along with each of those rides.

Eric,
I like the "Guzzi"! Always wanted one (of some flavor). Humm... ebay? R100RT yes! Nice bikes and pictures.

AGREED!

I love the XLCR and my first lusted for bike was the XR1000 I saw at the 85 or 86 Motorcycle Show.

As far as Moto Guzzis I have always loved the Lemans of the 70's and 80's. Would love to have one of all four models plus a V7 Sport.

DAMN! I wish I never sold my V65SP.

Hey MarkF,
I have a Lady Friend who has a V65SP and due to having a recent child probably has no use for it. It has been sitting in their garage unused for a few years. Do you want me to inquire?

Do I get finders fee?:)

Are you kidding? My BMW is already killing my marriage. Another Guzzi would be the final straw!

MarkF

Hey Eric,
My G/F may be interested in the Guzzi. She wants to get started riding, and That would be a good bike for her to tour on, and I could ride it till she is ready for it:D

My first bike was a '64 Honda Dream 150. A friend bought a matching bike and we took them from Detroit through Ohio, Pennsylvania, up state New York, across the 1000 Islands bridge and back through Canada. Quite an adventure at that time with bikes that size. My second was supposed to be a '65 BSA Lightening. I went to the dealer with cash in hand and saw it sitting on the floor. It was beautiful with glossy paint, chrome, and a drip pan. Sitting in the back looking lonely was a R50/2. It was love at first sight and I rode her home. I sold her when I joined the AF and headed for Viet Nam. Next was a '70 Honda CB 350, which I sold in the fall of '71 when I headed for Germany the first time. Twenty-five years later it was my current '96 R1100R.

Back on track

Kenn, thank you for getting this thread back on track. I'll bet that long trek on the 150 was pretty exciting.

At age 15 (1958) I bought a 1947 Triumph 5TA ex-flat tracker, laying on it's side in the mud behind a barn, tran. all blown to Hell, for $42. My Dad only let me get it 'cause he knew I'd never get it running... Boy, was he wrong.
First BMW was a new 1963 R60, didn't keep it long 'cause I was too young for it. Came back to BMW in 1974 (R75/6) and the rest is history.
Aprox. 46 bikes of many brands, more than 400k BMW miles, plus 200k on brands BSA through Yamaha.:brow

Have only owned two motorcycles:

First was a 1968 Honda sport 90. Bought it new with summer work money. Rode the wheels off it and passed it on to my younger brothers. I think it was still running is 1980.

Second is my present ride, 2002 R1150R.

In between rode anything and everything anyone would let me. Probably the scariest was a 250 Ossa back in the late '70s. Thing only had two speeds, on and off, and 6 gears that all sounded the same. :eek

Had a friend who drove a BMW to and from work years ago and swore I'd soon have one. Got to the point where I just had to do it. Heard of so many folks climbing past 50 and having a long list of regrets. I've eliminated one big one.:clap

Chalk up one more guy who has one less thing on his "I wish I had done. . . " list. Good for you Scott.
