What is your motorcycle history?

Holy moly. Quite a collection you've got there, Chris. You riding them all to the rally?

:D

I count TWELVE!

Chris,

You still have twelve bikes? I can't imagine! I have heard these things tend to reproduce, I can see you haven't yet to find the cause.:D

HOLY COW MOTOCLASS!!

. . . when I first saw that list, I thought I was reading a dealer inventory sheet. I counted 32 in all--and you still own 12? I would love to see some pictures of the R90 and the CB450 Honda. My old '72 Honda 450 gave me a lot of great memories. Any good stories to along with any of those past and present rides?

I thought I'd replied to this already ... but maybe not.

Never sold one:

'82 Yamaha XT125 - first bike we all learned to ride on. It's so slow and beat up it feels like riding a sponge. (It was running when we got it.)

'80 Honda XL125 - my brother traded a lawn mower for it. I remember thinking it was scary. It's my current project. (It was running when we got it.)

'74 BMW R75/6 - traded lawn care for it. it's been my daily rider for 5 years now. (It sat for 25 years before I got it.)

'01 Yamaha WR400 - essentially the most perfect motorcycle. Ever. I love it. Some guy tried to steal it from our shed by cutting the locks off with a concrete saw. (It was running when we got it.)

'78 Suzuki DS100 - I responded to an ad on craigslist for a free lawnmower. This was propped up against the shed. It needed a new gas tank, and still needs a new carb, but I've ridden it around a bit regardless. (It sat for a few decades before we got it.)

'74 BMW R90/6 - bought straight-up from the previous lawncare customers. (It sat for about 25 years before I got it.)

'78 Suzuki GS750 - I am the caretaker of this bike for my friend while she learns to get comfortable with riding. She got a heck of a deal on it and it's in near mint condition. I've ridden it about 150 miles. (It was running when we got it.)

'86 Yamaha BW80 - Some guy drove up to our shop and asked if we worked on motorcycles. We said yes, so he invited us to his house a block away. We left with the motorcycle. It had obviously been under water/mud for a long time, and the crankcase was full of mud. $7 and some work later, and we were riding it around. It could use a new carburetor. (It had been in a flood and not running when we got it.)
