TT riser gap

Looking for some advise. Installing Tourtech handlebar riser on my 17 GSA and when the bolts are tightened down there is a gap between bmw and TT riser. I wouldn't think this is correct. I'm I missing something? The instructions are a diagram of where they go. On the diagrams there is reference to gap but I'm not sure if it means there should be or shouldn't be one.

I'm not sure....My RoxRisers have a gap. I think there has to be a gap. If a clamp (sides) touch, it's tough to have any clamping action.
Maybe someone that installed the TT units will let you know how theirs went.

Thanks OM. Makes sense. After looking at the diagram more it shows no gaps at the front and a gap at the rear. All is good. Made a nice change in the riding position.

Now that you mention it, something about a front or rear gap rings a bell. I think I went for even tightening and have been good to go. I did enjoy the change of riding position as well.

I just installed the 25mm Hornig risers on my GS, there is a small gap. And like everybody else said, a huge improvement in comfort, just what I need since I am getting older. I remember back in the 70s when I started riding we rode the bikes the way they came from the factory, maybe a different handle bar and some Koni shocks......that was it.
