The NEW 2025 R1300GS Adventure

I have a 93 R100GS/PD which has an 8.5 gal capacity fuel tank. I was interested to see that the fuel capacity for this GSA is "only" 7.9 gallons.

Simply because there is a vast difference in fuel economy in those GSes. Tanks and therefore fuel weight can be reduced.

On my R1200 GSA LC on level ground at 60 mph, I am at 50 MPG (US). My 7.9 gallon (US) tank is good for 373 miles (or more) if I ran it dry.

So, what do folks consider to be the acceptable full-tank range for a dual-sport adventure motorcycle??

For any highway capable motorcycle,I usually lookm for at least 300 miles plus another 30 miles to look for a gas station. Range is the first thing I look at when buying.

I find 230-240 miles to be sufficient. Anyplace where fuel is more widely spaced than that I’m going to be carrying aux fuel anyway, and in the meantime I don’t care to deal with the extra bulk and weight of huge tanks.

Best,
DeVern

I like 300+ miles and get that with my 1200GSA if I ride 55 MPH with on hardback is doable as in Yukon AK etc. That range is a necessity as some towns can be out of fuel too.... BTDT... Add 10-15 % more MPG's if you use non-ethanol... YMMV

I had one of the early 1150 GS models. I remember the reaction to that bike. The "cockeyed" headlight. The ugly beak. All GSes are pretty ugly. That's part of the charm.

The biggest issue I have is that BMW is loading the bikes with a lot of expensive electronic gadgets that have no business in Ike supposedly able to go anywhere . I dumped my BMW X5d rmthat I loved because it turned into a money pit due to electronics and mechanical failures.

I love my 2011 R1200RT. Easy so work on d it’s paid for besides, the New Orleans dealership will not work on anything over 10 years old now.

I’m done with BMW anything . The RT is my last BMW.

Looks like a train locomotive, why that ugly fuel tank, it looks like an afterthought and decided to cover the front left over of the bike with a slapped-on piece of aluminum. Very disappointed.
