Suspected rocker chatter on start up

Any need to switch out the right side tensioner? If ot, why not? Is it an oil drain "thing"?

No need to change the right side tensioner. Yes, it's an oil "drain thing". The left side sits on the top, the right side sits below. So the right side doesn't lose its oil from gravity draining.
 
I keep a few of those tensioners in stock also. Would be happy to drop a set in the mail to whoever needs one. BMW retail price.
 
Update

I updated the tensioner and it fixed both the start up clatter as well as the warm engine idle clatter. Very easy job on a CLC, just remove the side cover and reach in with a long wrench. Thanks again for everyone's suggestions.
