Remove 1988 r100rt faring pocket and vent

Hi
Was thinking of removing the cubby pocket with keyed cover and vent on my 88RT. I haven't used the vent or pockets in years. I have a fabric set of pouches I bought for an RS and they nest between tank and faring with a velcro strap. I would use them more because they have a zipper for quick access. I have 4 bikes and this RT is my winter bike. I would like to block or have some control over airflow with the inner vent part removed. Im looking for ideas to block/regulate the air vent. Any ideas?
Thanks
Brian

Block

Once you take out the fairing pocket and adjustable vent system. The painted grill that covers the opening on the fairing will come out with two small screws. You can use anything from duct tape to making a plastic plug. St.

Did someone say duct tape. That’s to easy, on for winter, off for summer. I’m wondering if any of you guys have an adjustable vent added after the inside pocket has been removed. You mention a plug. Use to use a sponge and big foam blocks on farings where the forks go through. Blocked a lot of cold air. In the summer I pulled them out for air flow.
So any ideas on an adjustable vent is appreciated.
Thanks
Brian
