R1250 GS Oil Leak after service???

Shifthead Torques shows 42 Nm for oil drain plug to crackcase for GS. Does this look right to you folks?
Off hand I'm not sure, but I KNOW for sure the torque for that drain bolt isn't "finger tight". 🙄😖

Personally, I would just notify the service manager with pictures, and let them respond. Stuff happens. You were blessed.

(I might add, make sure that they have the right lock washer on that bolt. I mixed up my final drive and motor oil drain bolt washers, and had a puddle on the garage floor to greet me the next morning. Off hand, I can't recall, one's an aluminum cross washer and the other's a copper washer. I'd have to check again to be certain. Now I have a bunch in two bags somewhere in the garage labeled in big red letters.) 🙈👍🍻

I sent first set of photos to JR in sales since I do not have an email for their service department (and in past when I have tried to communicate on a Sunday or Monday using their “Website Contact Us” to either schedule service or ask about a part they never reply). Then I sent the follow up photos after I discovered the problem. I ask him to pass to their service department and have them call me.
Did you hear back from them on Tuesday?
There's a chance he has Tuesdays off and will contact you today.

I did notify with pictures. Service staff replied and apologized and then the company owner did the same. Said they would cover my next service. I replied I had no expectation of financial benefit and shared for safety awareness. I did say I hoped he’d do like we did in the military and have an all staff 10 minute stand-down where he described what happened and raised awareness that the owner could have been injured or killed if the engine seized while riding. And no need to point finger at any individual. He replied he had already done so.

Good job on how you, the owner and staff handled it.

I've always thought you can tell more about a company (or person) how issues are handled when things go sideways than when things go as planned. From what you said, that's a place I would be very comfortable doing business with.

They have had, for at least the 25 years I have known about them, an excellent reputation.
