R1200r vs R1200gs

Looking for some info from those who have ridden both the R12R and R12GS. I have a '99GS that is becoming heavier every year and I just purchased a 2008 R1200r. I love the lighter weight and quicker handling but miss the GS ride and shock travel. I know the R12gs is lighter than my 99, but I am looking for comparison opinions as to handling and comfort of the R12gs vs. R12r. I ride mostly road, but some dirt/gravel roads. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Who are You?

I've had 2 GS's (2007 and 2012) and sold them both in less than a year, after deciding they were too tall, too stodgy and too heavy for me. I've now gone back to a 2015 R1200R, which I am very happy with. Much lighter and more agile, with the same basic engine. Added BMW sidecases, lower pegs, & a Givi windscreen. The GS will do everything you ask it to do, but to me it is a hard, cold German machine without a smile; without a pleasant soul. I like the roadster.
