not sure about the bike but the video is cool

They are a pretty cool bike but not too road worthy.
I am told they are very under powered for highway use but great for back roads and off road.
Great clip though , what fun!

I really like that video.... but the burning question remains: "how many Urals does it take to go coast to coast?" :whistle - Bob

How many?

Something along the line of one. Built like a '40s tank. Just plan on fuel stops about every one hundred miles and a new rear tire after a couple thousand miles. Also plan on being photographed numerous times and approached by everybody and their dog for talk about the machine.

And no worries about speeding tickets, mate! Top speed of maybe 55-60mph on flat ground, no head wind.

could be a very interesting 'blue roads' ride coast to coast (and inbetween) then. Think I'll keep my old /5 for that gig though but I really like the looks of that Ural rig. - Bob

I they could build a bike as good as the video...............................................

I stopped at a country store about 5 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway today in Central Virginia and there were two new URALs with sidecars parked outside. Talked with the owners (man and his wife from Lexington, Va). They also have a 2005 at home. The bikes with sidecars are around $13,000 each. He said they are a blast with a top speed of around 63 (highly not recommended) but are a best at 45. They ride the bikes year round and put knobbies on in the winter for snow and ice. He said the 2005 has 25,000 miles on it and was troublefree until he bought the new ones. The electronic ignition failed at that time but he has had no other problems. He also has 3 airheads and a new Kawasaki Concours while his wife has a belt drive F800.
