Non-Glare Screen Protectors - What Are Your Opinions?

I purchased non-glare screen protectors from Speedo Angles about a year ago for the TFT and Garmin GPS. I have mixed feelings about them. When the sun is at an angle just right, I can't read the screens. However, the glare was not so good without them. I'm curious was other's experiences are with screen protectors-standard and non-glare versions. Also, where did you get your screen protectors if you really like them, or hate them.

I purchased on Amazon the two-pack of Speedo Angels screen protectors for my 2018GS back in 2022. Installed one and it is still on the bike. I’ve not noticed any visibility issues or problems with screen glare, but there are so many factors that can affect that (rider height & posture, windshield protection, etc). I do have a tinted windshield on the bike but don’t think it has a major impact on TFT visibility. YMMV.

Best,
DeVern

I've installed the same as you, Jeff. MUCH better than the glare I got off the stock screen. You could try increasing the brightness setting on your screen. And yes, angle of view can make a huge difference. I repositioned my Garmin to be at a 90 degree angle to my eyes when seated in a riding position.

Keep in mind that Speedo Angels has two different types. They have their standard protector and a non glare version. GT Rider and BC1100s did you get the non glare version or their standard protector?

I have the non-glare version as well. With sun directly behind you at just the right angle, it is very hard too see the screen. But, I think that would be true with clear, as well as no screen protector.

I use a company called "Lexerd" for screen savers. They offer screen savers for almost everything with a lcd screen, in both clear and no-glare models. I personally like the non-glare versions, but I do have to kick up the screen brightness for most of my devices. And if the sun is directly behind me, it's still hard -- if not impossible -- to see. I also use a sun shade, which helps even more! (2015 RT, NAV 5)

I tried the Speedo Angels both the BMW version and their anti glare version (not knowing at the time bmw was the same) couldn't see thru either one. Turned the screen an odd purple haze. I gave up and just clean it after ever ride so water spots dont have a chance to set in.
