Armor/Impact Protection? The horns of a dilemma?

I seem to recall as a kid being able to touch the top of a telephone pole while standing on the snow berm in front of our house in St. Johns. Tough riding conditions.
We were close to that high some winters as well. Drifts to the second floor windows. Having to jump out and shovel to get to the front door. Those were good times though
 
This does not show the dumps we had this year.

But this gives you an idea. Thankfully I'm protected from the wind, otherwise the drifts would be brutal. Rollie knows...:ha
