No audible turn by turn directions: TFT to Packtalk Bold

Title of the post pretty much says it all.

The bike is a new 2021 S1000XR
My iPhone is connected with the BMW connected app
My Packtalk is connected to “mobile phone one“
My Nav VI connects to “mobile phone 2”

I have no trouble with any other functionality: music streams perfectly, audio from the navigation GPS is fine.

But I don’t want to always use my Garmin for day-to-day commuting. I would like to be able to get audio turn by turn with my Connected app.

The app shows me turn by turn on the TFT, but there are no spoken directions.

Although it’s trying to: when I listen to music, the music volume reduces when a new term direction appears and then goes back up afterwards.

Any thoughts?

Solved one problem. Got another.

I've learned that after changing to a different System Voice on my iPhone, I was suddenly able to get spoken directions.

The weird thing is that the voice I have used for a long time wasn't the problem.

I changed from one of the "Enhanced" voices back to just regular Siri, and it worked. So curious, I switched back to my enhanced voice, and it worked fine...

Meanwhile, on the way back home from the Pine Mountain KY Getaway, my music connection dropped twice. both the TFT and the Nav VI said the audio was connected and I could watch the time of music tracks tick by.

Restarting the Packtalk didn't help, nor did rebooting my phone.

The only thing that brings it back is pulling over and restarting the bike (in other words, the TFT.)

Dear BMW... the connections are really flaky...
