Why not nitrogen emitting Dyna Beads?
That is a great idea for a new product!!
BUT...it is really the second step.
The first step is to get ALL the nasty, dirty, wet air out of the tire. You need to have a vacuum pump to suck it all out. Suck on that tire so it looks like a dead dehydrated earth worm wrapped around your wheel.
THEN you can add you 100% dry Nitrogen with exclusive propriety atomized rubber conditioning agents!
He was right to be concerned - there's a difference between hot-dip galvanized and zinc plated. Like a whole lot of zinc difference.I had a PhD in Acoustics lament that he couldn't find galvanized fasteners at the local hardware store. He had to settle for zinc-coated.......

Downside? Typically the rip-off cost. Advantage - leaks less through crappy rubber. Not a big deal. Less pressure change - only because it is dry. Dry air will do the same.
Bottom line. I like 78% nitrogen in my tires.
Edited: 78%, not 82%, my memory from 1960 failed me.
The tire tech said...
Because he heard it somewhere. And even in this case where the theory is valid, it really does not make any difference worth considering.
The only time I am every in a shop is when I am there to have a recall done. Its hilarious listening to the service advisor advising the customer ahead of me. They must have a licence to BS.
I think that is pretty much the case in many situations. If someone thinks you do not have a clue, their is always someone who is more than willing to BS you. I guess it makes them feel like they are important.
I am amazed at what some of my friends pay for a brake job on their cars; I'm talking just four brake discs (or two front discs and two rear brake drums) and pads/shoes. They are dishing out between $1000 and $1500. And this using lower priced (more profit) jobber parts at some Midas. Talk about a licence to print money. Another friend dished out $7000 last year for suspension and brakes.![]()
I once spent that much for suspension and brakes too, but I got the rest of the car to go with that stuff.

That is why I left the Auto service managers job 25 years ago, after we were bought out by a mega dealership, they were always looking for rip off gimmicks to retain customers, rather than giving exemplary service at a fair price.
Under previous ownership my guess is 90% of our customers ALWAYS had us do all the maintenance on their cars.
They have an expensive repair and drive off to bad mouth you. Just picked up a customer's Range Rover today [at the dealer] that we had not seen in over a year. He needed a head job and the "estimate" at the dealer was more than the car was worth. We will do it for less than half and he will likely fuss about it. But he will be back again if he ever gets another dealer estimate.
It was funny, before bought by the mega dealer we had customers come in and buy new cars and tell the salesman the reason they were there was a friend/coworker/relative was bragging about how much they loved us! Many said; who brags about their car dealer like it was their favorite restaurant? They had to come in and see it for themselves!
I brag about my motorcycle dealership like its my favorite restaurant... Pensacola BMW of north west Florida.
