My 2021 R1250rt Question

Hopefully I can get photo on this thread. Recently purchased my 2021 R1250rt. In looking for serial number at DMV found object with what looks like duct tape over. Near right fork. Can anyone tell me wgats what?? Thank you. (P.S First Post)

Clarification:
Look at far left of photo & blow up to see what looks like duct taped part. Just left of Emission Control Sticker. Thanks, Andy

It’s duct tape, chances are applied as a modification by the previous owner?
I would just carefully peal it off, in case there is some sort of marking that may be disturbed, and see what there is to see.
Next, if there is wires, see where they lead.

Yes. Is on frame member near forks. Really hard to see.
