Laptop conundrum - Mac or Windows

The only downside is that I don't have Streets and Trips on the laptop and I miss it. It's scary how much I use that program. Grey Matter - I'm sending you a PM and thanks.

BG, Delorme's "Street Atlas" is twice the program S&Ts is. The only issue is that you can't (AFAIK) download MAPS to a Garmin. You can make routes, download THEM, and store tracks.
It's certainly no TOPO!, but it beats the heck out of S&Ts, IMHO.

I am not sure but this may allow you to use your Gamin software.

I've never done it personally, but I've read that Virtual PC runs Mapsource fine.

Virtual PC will run Mapsource although a little slow. The problem comes when you want to get the info into the GPS. The USB port does not recognize the Garmin GPS. I have talked to the techs at Garmin many who have Apples and they have not have a solution. Later this year they are supposed to come out with an Apple compatible GPS, and lets hope there are upgrades for the current ones.

Oh. That's interesting. I have both and opted for S and T most times. I forget why but it seems easier or maybe there were more motels, more accurate or something. Maybe I should try it again.
