I just wanted to say that I got a chance to meet and talk with Mr. Ryan for about 10 minutes at the rally and it was one of the most pleasant first meetings I have ever had a chance to experience. He was friendly and extremely humble. I am sure that I was but one of many who just wanted to shake his hand and express my congratulations for his record breaking ride. I am also sure that it might get tiring having people you do not know from Adam coming up to you time and again; however, he was polite, patient, and I never once got the feeling he felt bothered by my intrusion. He took the time to tell me a little about some of the highlights and low lights of his ride and how, believe it or not, he thought it could have been completed in a little less time....I do not know Mr. Ryan personally; however, he seems like a class act to me.

His scoot has 151,000 MILES on it,and is still under warranty!

So, that's the story behind that motorcycle! That's a famous (at least in my mind) bike. I'd heard his story before, too. Cool stuff. I couldn't imagine doing something quite like that any time soon in my own life.

Did he share any tips or tricks?

(On a related note, I personally got the chance to hang out with Nate Kern at the MOA rally.. another guy living a dream and still cool and level headed enough to hang out and talk with.)

Actually his take on it was that it was all the people and companies that supported him, he actually listed some of them, that made it possible he told me he just had to keep the wheels turning. As I said...very humble about the whole thing.

Here's John Ryan having a thoughtful conversation with some guy in a great looking T-shirt...
