Welcome to the forum! I'm trying to be sure I know what your "area" is...your avatar appears to be for metropolitan Washington. I don't know that area well, but when I read Halifax, my first thought was Nova Scotia! I'd suggest further updating your profile to include more of your location. I'm sure there are others in/around DC.

Like Kurt, when I saw Halifax, I immediately thought of Nova Scotia, but that's partly because that's roughly where I am, and so I don't normally think of all the other Halifaxs unless I'm travelling. There are a number (I'm aware of 6 in North America).
Anyway, welcome and once we have your overall location I'm sure someone can chime in on what club is closest to you.
If it is Halifax, Nova Scotia, then our Club, BMW Owners of Nova Scotia (BMWONS) is active here, meeting very Thursday evening at the Chicken Burger in Bedford.

No problem with that, it is just that there are a lot of duplicate city/town names between the two countries.
If you'd like to follow the links in my earlier post there is a little info on us. Not as up-to-date or active as it should be as we've been busy this year, and I've been trying to get as much riding in as possible before boating season gets into full swing. ;-)
We had a good ride to the Annapolis Valley on Saturday with great BBQ dinner to hold a quick memorial service one of our Charter Member's who helped form the club 39 years ago.
Just a note regarding our scheduled meets - this Thursday (15th) - I will be announcing later today that it is going to be downtown Halifax at the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History (1747 Summer Street) as The Coast newspaper is having their Annual Food Truck Party there so I thought we'd take that in - who can resist over a dozen food trucks in one location with music and a beer garden? ;-)
Most subsequent Thursday evening meets will be at the usual spot - Chicken Burger in Bedford.
