How to add a heated seat?

My 2005 R1200ST came with heated grips and no seats. I purchased a heated seat on ebay and have not found a connector on the bike to plug it in. I assume this is supposed to be connected to a switch to control the temperature and should not be connected directly to the battery without something to control temperature? Is there an aftermarket thermostat/controller available ? Any help is much appreciated.

Hi, I would think that any aftermarket setup that connects directly to the battery for a heated liner would work for controlling temperature. Would probably require changing a connector on the seat.

The idea (aftermarket) is the same, but if the controller uses PWM (pulse width modulation) to control the "On" time, there may be an issue with a somewhat different current requirement, dunno...
