Heated gear interchangeability?

Anyone know if controllers and interconnects are interchangeable between manufacturers?
I have a Gerbings controller I'd like to use with a Firstgear (Warm 'n Safe) jacket liner.
My gut tells me they are.

Yep. I use a FirstGear (made by Warm N Safe) jacket liner and heat controller, and Gerbing gloves and socks. So long as they all use the same connector.

I say yes, they will interchange. Gerbing will tell you no. That is because I am not trying to sell you a controller or garment and they are.

Warm & Safe will tell you to be sure that the harness the controller plugs into is good for at least 15 amps.
