Heads Removal Question

I am removing the heads from my '75 R90S for rebuilding. I do not plan to remove the jugs.
Because this will relieve the tension on the cylinder mounting bolts (rods), will I need to re-seal the cylinder base, re-seat pushrod oil seals, etc

Welcome to the forum? How many miles on the engine? Have you ever sealed the base and/or changed the pushrod seals?

Snowbum discusses how to what you want. But you must try and keep pressure on the cylnder base to maintain the compession on the seal.

Not an answer to your question, but considering the low cost involved I would pull the cylinders and replace the push rod seals and metal base gaskets.

For me, the driver would be to inspect the cam followers and have a look at the cam lobes, measure pistons, ring gaps and cylinder bores.

How many miles on the bike?
