Curious wear on 2020 R1250R front axle

Pulling rims off the bike last night I noticed that the wear mark from the right side bearing seal is not concentric all the way around the axle. The seems like the seal is not actually sealing on that part of the axle. I wasn't paying attention to orientation when I pulled it as I was not looking for any issues just pulling it to change tires. Bike has 7,000mi on it and no crashes or anything that I'm aware of that would tweak the axle or rim. Also no noticeable vibrations or weirdness in the front end. Anyone else noticed this? Couple shots below showing the wear marks I would expect and then the opposite side of the axle showing nothing.

Thanks for any help.Shaft marks.jpg

Hi Dave,
The seal that is driven into each side of the rim is the least ridged and least precise component in the axle.
When it is seated every so slightly more on one side than the other, the axial runout is shown by the different polished areas in some cases.

Also a factor is the concentricity of the various shoulders on the axle could be off just a little bit...which is more than likely what is causing this.

Let me get it set up in my lathe when you get back up north and we can tell for sure.

Stay warm,
Brad
