Cell Phone Wireless charger issues

Repeating what others have already described, the newer iPhones have a very tall/thick camera lens assembly, preventing the phone from laying flat enough for the induction charger to work on the '21 and up R1250RT's.

I am now using a 1-foot USB A to Right Angle Lightning connector cable for charging while on the road. It is a little fussy but you get used to it quickly.

FWIW: I use an otter box for my iPhone 13 and the case brings the back of the phone in line with the camera pod. It charges fine in the cubby with wireless charging. I do use the clamp to keep it in place and avoid the release strap getting caught underneath the phone.

This is interesting …… does all that fit in the charger area with cover closed ?

I should have mentioned that I needed to cut a notch into the otter case for the clamp. Trimming the bottom edge over the speaker holes did the trick.

The BMW spec for the phone is a maximum of 8.8mm depth. The iPhone 13 is 7.65mm leaving a little over a millimeter for the case. I would hazard a guess that the case adds about 2mm to the depth but cutting the notch brings the depth back to ~8.65.
