Bead rider seat covers

I have a friend who rides a 09 1200 GS and I want to buy him a Beadrider seat cover.
Which one should I get?

I have had the “classic” for a few years and it shows no sign of wear. It’s quite comfortable. Never tried the “ultimate.”

The Classic is made with wooden beads. If he rides in rain often the beads will fail. I could get only a year out of the Classic before beads started breaking. The Ultimate is made with ceramic beads, the lacing that ties them together will fail eventually. All I buy is the Ultimate. A good friend of mind went with the classic once and now only buys the Ultimate. vMine never come off, so they see a fair amount of use.

I am not the first to think of this, but I don't know with whom or where the idea did originate. If one takes 3mm parachute cord and runs around the outside of the beaded seat the life of the seat is greatly extended. I did this and got over 20 years from a beaded seat (bike sold, so I don't know about afterwards).
