ABS question

I have a 2015 GSA w/7k miles - took off on a road trip ten days ago (home now) - after first refueling, started bike and the ABS 'attention light' came on ... rode about 20 miles, called my mechanic - not much he could do over the phone - set up an appt. with dealer in Eugene, Ore. for next day. Got to my destination in Eugene and began to research the problem online - one guy had posted 'press and hold the ABS button - if the light stays on, you have a problem.' Well, I did the 'press and hold' and bingo! - the light went off! Pressed and held for prob. 10 seconds - not just the three seconds to disable or enable the ABS. Canceled my appt. at the Eugene dealer and went on my way. Had no problems since then - 2k miles later. Was surprised neither my home dealer, nor the Eugene guy had me press and hold to reset the ABS. Neither does it mention the 'press and hold' idea in the manual...anybody had this or a similar experience? Thx... Kim in Chico, Ca.
