2024 RT break in

Just picked up my '24 RT yesterday. BIG upgrade from my 2013 RT. Looking at the manual and the suggested break in is keeping under 5K RPM for the 1st 600 miles. I've been advised by the dealer that it's OK to exceed 5K rpms but to put the engine under various loads and use some engine braking as well to more thoroughly break the engine in. Sound like solid advice? I want to go by the book and make sure I'm taking necessary steps to ensure the bike set up for a long life.

Congratulations!
I think you have it down.

Congrats. Picked up my '24 RT in May.
Within the first 600 miles the engine got noticeably smoother and as Paul and Omega suggested, I kept it on backroads and varied the RPM's. Now at 4,000 miles and the oil hasn't moved position in the sight glass since the first oil change at 600 miles.
It runs perfect.
